Memorandum of Understanding on Diaspora Issues signed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Terens Quick, and Armenian Diaspora Minister, Hranush Hakobyan (Yerevan, 15 December 2017)

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Terens Quick, and Armenian Diaspora Minister, Hranush Hakobyan, signed, in Yerevan, a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOU) on Diaspora issues. In statements to the media, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Quick stressed the following: “The genocides, the shared sorrows, the history of the two peoples, Christianity, culture and traditions are some of the many ties between Greece and Armenia. This confers great importance on today’s signing, with my counterpart Hranush Hakobyan, of the MOU. As I have already stated, our cooperation with Armenia, within the framework our trilateral cooperation with Cyprus is off to a very auspicious start, with many actions planned for 2018. Actions that we will be hosting in Greece Thessaloniki and Komotini–which will focus on events dedicated to the Pontic and Armenian Genocides.” Following the signing of the MOU, Mr. Quick met with the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Ara Babloyan, to whom he conveyed the greetings of the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Nikos Voutsis, ahead of the setting of a date for the latter’s visit to Yerevan.
